DOMAIN IV- Professional Responsibilities
4a Reflecting on Teaching
I reflect constanly on my teaching. I think true reflection in any aspect of life is the one way you can ever improve in an area be that physical fitness, teaching, spirituality, relationships, etc. Edivate is a website that I use to post videos of myself teaching. I review those myself and then share them with colleagues to get feedback. If I could, I would show that here, but below is a picture of what it looks like with my reviews/a colleagues.

4b Maintaining Accurate Records
I always have a current copy of my students' IEP's on file in my classroom locked away in a safe spot. In order to truly give my students what they need, I need to make sure I know their individual needs. Obviously, for confidentiality, I will not post those, but they are always current in my room.
Besides that, during our PLC's on Friday's, my team and I review current data on our students and analyze what else we need to be doing for them.

4c Communicating with Families
I built a website for 6th grade and use it to communicate to parents about the things going on around the schools, events specifically for 6th grade, and for their assignments. I keep all rubrics and grading policies posted on that website so my expectations are clear for both the parents and my students. 4d Participating in the Professional Community
I strongly believe in growing as a teacher and am constantly looking for ways to learn and improve. I attend all events, attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings, discourage gossip, and stay focused during PLC and Team meetings. I dress professionally and try to interact with my coworkers, admin, students, and parents in a professional way.
I just recently (March 2019) attended Literacy Night at my school and ran a room. Besides attending, I also volunteered as a judge to read over the essay contest entries.

4e Growing and Developing Professionally
I am constantly looking up different resources to help my instruction and me as a whole. I look for trainings, do additional courses on edX, and read. I just recently finished a book entitled, "How We Learn" in the summer of 2018 and it focused on how we process and store information. It helped me take new ideas into my instruction. I looked more closely at the level of questions I ask, engagement strategies I use, the time management behind all my assignments and activities, and how often I should be rementioning things in order for my students to retain information.
I just recently got approved to do some action research on how technology affects achievement in my classroom and will be doing that during the 2019-2020 school year. Like I have mentioned in other places, education is a way of living, not just something you do. I try to progress to my best ability in all aspects of my life and believe I have a lot of growth yet to make in my educational career.

4f Showing Professionalism
I believe in professional communication at all times regardless of who emails me and how. For example, with parents, I have learned that when they are upset, thanking them for their interest first usually helps to diffuse the conflict they feel. Afterall, it is better to have parents want to be involved than not at all and I appreciate their efforts. With my fellow teachers, I always try to remain positive. Teachers can find it easy to complain and find fault in others. I have also been in that boat as I've gotten to know the profession. We are so used to analyzing children and discussing their needs that we sometimes do it to our teammates.
I had a very personal experience with an issue with an admin in the past. It was difficult to know whether I should complain, just walk away, or turn to colleagues for help. I tried discussing it with the actual person, and when that didn't work, I didn't complain or gossip, but took it to the right sources. The problem was resolved and most of my colleagues still have no idea it even happened. Professionalism is also staying quiet when you need to.
