“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.”
― John Dewey
Like a complicated musical composition, like the Hungarian Rhapsody shown below, there is much that goes into education. Fundamentalists argue that education is key to the success of our future generations, the foundation to everything, and Conflict Theorists identify the conflicts that sometimes get in the way of education like the gender achievement gap, socio-economic gap, and many others. How do we build, shape, and teach when we have such diversities in our classrooms? How do we educate every child where he or she is at in their specific cognitive stage of development and zone of proximal development? This page highlights some of my ideas on education, the research I have done so far, and the goals I want to continue to accomplish in the future to become a better educator.

“Once you give yourself permission to unleash that potential, you will find a way to not only improve your own practice, but help those around you as well. You will come to see that you have unique ideas, solutions, and know-how to improve your practice, your school, and your community. When we begin to find the courage to embrace our vulnerabilities, we become a source of inspiration, not only to those who surround us, but also to ourselves.” (Burke, J., 2014)
